I bought a bike like this for Josh nearly a year ago from a yard sale for five dollars. It needed new tires and some oil but I thought we could make it work. We never ended up getting around to it and sold it at a yard sale. A few months later Tyler found one for him at Sams club and excitedly brought it home for him to try out...he was especially excited because it happened to be assembled. It looked like a bike someone had returned (It had some wear on it and the back wood paneling was old looking) but we had trouble finding in other stores especially assembled so we went with it. Shortly after having it steering wheel kept slipping out of place and it seemed to be rattly and wobbly. So we ended up having to return this one. Josh was very patient about getting and losing his cool red bike that he loved so much and wanted to ride all the time despite it never working.
Fast forward a few months and my friend Alexis game me her oldest sons trike that had been handed down to all the brothers (3) we were happy to get it and excitedly showed it to Josh. He was sweet and happy about it but we knew he was hoping it would be his red bike. Finally, Tyler found another one at Sams club a month or so ago and snatched it up while it was there. He did have to assemble it but he got it anyway. He did a great job, the bike is solid and Josh is so happy to finally be able to have, keep and ride his cool red bike.
He is learning to ride up and down the hills in the greenbelt near our home. It's fun to see him try and keep up with his brother Spencer as we go on our morning walks.
Kate is walking behind him in this picture wearing squeaky shoes. She thinks they are pretty great.
