The Atonement of Jesus Christ

I listened to an address by Brother and Sister Hafen from last years women's conference this morning about the Atonement.  It was wonderful. You can get to it and watch it yourself by clicking on this link. Shortly before it started I was thinking about diamonds and how they are formed. The combination of time, pressure and the right elements provides the recipe and circumstances necessary to create this precious gem.  A gem that is not only amazing to look at but also incredibly strong. It made me think of life and all the experiences we have while here on this earth.  As I pondered my experiences so far I felt eternally grateful for what I have been able to experience. Because of our Saviors sacrifice and obvious love and delicate care of us a midst our struggles we if our hearts are tuned to Him will desire to obey Him and will want to be more like Him. Because of His love and sacrifice, through this Atonement we can be strengthened by our experiences on this earth and slowly but successfully overcome our struggles and become the greatest version of our selves--a Christ-like version. This is amazing to me.
