Sunday drive out to the temple.

I have been wanting to get out to the temple for two reasons. 1. to get a picture of Kate in her blessing dress and 2. To go as a family with my children especially Grant since he will be able to go to the temple for the first time this year.  He has allready asked me if he can get his temple recommend interview on his birthday so that he can do some family names in the temple with us the week after he turns 12.  

This is a big birthday for him and I really would like to do that with him. 

Kate looked so darling in her crocheted blessing gown. I am hoping that it will be something that reminds her of church and family. I hope that she understands that the gospel is about more than just rules to follow.  It's about being good, beautiful, clean, safe, happy, loved, and cared for. I hope she thinks often about that great love her Heavenly Father has for her.  I hope that I will be reminded too by looking at this beautiful little girl in her blessing dress that it is my job to teach her how to be happy and how to live close to her Father in Heaven.  I hope she knows at a young age that this church is true. I know if she does these things she will always hear and recognize the available help that is meant to guide her through life's inevitable challenges. 

It was a very hot day...so it worked in her favor that I did not have her slip with us for the photo shoot. Her dress looks a little more like fishnet without the slip than I would like. 

I am planning on framing these pictures along with her dress to put up on the wall in her room. 

I am so glad we found a few minutes to make it to the temple even if it was a sacrifice to do so.
