Last night and this morning

I made an awesome discovery last night. I noticed that Joshua has been getting congested quite a bit at bed time. He makes a lot of grunting gremlin/badger noises that keep us all up at night. I put him in his car seat/stroller last night to sleep thinking he might be allergic to the bed since the family that loaned it to us has cats and what do you know he slept like a champ. I however was up every 2-3 hours trying to figure out why he wasn't. I only had to feed him 3 times last night. That is some serious progress. Since he's been home he has been up all night and asleep all day. I hope the problem is solved.

As he lay sleeping soundly in his car seat I was laying comfortably in my bed. No more weird back pain, pregnant lady sleeping issues. Sleep felt so awesome. Everything did for that matter. Tyler and I stayed up a little longer than we should have talking about our life and how much it has changed...for the better. How cute it is to see the boys interacting with Joshua and how cute it is to see him straining to turn his head towards their voices. We are so blessed. All those months of feeling horrible, not sleeping well, bed rest and finally the last few weeks in the NICU have been totally worth it and I'd do it again ten more times at least.

This morning we went on a walk and got back into our pre bed rest, post morning sickness routine. It felt nice to go on our familiar walk, have family prayers, eat breakfast together and read scriptures.

The weather was slightly cool with a definite fall smell in the air. Leaves were blowing all over the place. I love fall. It felt so good to be out and about in the cool air.
Joshua seemed pretty content until just the very end of the walk when he got hungry.
We came across a trail of ants...I joked that they were heading to our house. We have an ant problem that is just not going away. It's not so awesome.
Spencer decided he needed to tuck his sweatshirt into his shorts and I couldn't bring myself to say anything. It's such a 5 year old thing to do. Very cute in my book.
I love the way the sun shines down on the park about 7 in the morning.
Grant was in Heaven chatting with us about bike riding mishaps. We learned about the time Tyler flipped over his bike and into a bunch of water at a busy intersection on his mission, and the time I ran into a parked truck and was close lined by the mirrors on the side of the car. Good times.
Spencer pointed out the pretty fall colors in the trees. What a great time of year.
The boys said that they want to do 5 laps around the park tomorrow instead of the 2 we did today. I think I will stick with two but I'm glad they enjoyed it enough to go 5.

You should look into those new beds that they have for newborns that sleep the baby at an incline. All of my brothers and sisters that have recently had babies have used them. I wish they had been around when I was having babies.

Oh that sounds great. Do you know what they are called?

They are made by Fisher Price and can be found at Walmart and Target...here is a link to one at Target (there are other styles too). http://www.target.com/p/fisher-price-rock-n-play-sleeper/-/A-14287618#prodSlot=medium_1_13

I too wish I had them when my babies were little. Katie spent her first three months in her car seat, but it was difficult to rock when I am in bed and she was on the floor in the car seat. These newborn beds are at the same incline as a car seat, but with the breathable mesh sides and on a rocking frame that sits high enough to reach from the side of your bed. Ingenious!
