Trying to do a little better.

I am continuing with the lists for Grant. He seems to do really well when his instructions are written down. I guess whatever works. Homemade Bread, almond butter, fresh peach slice.
This was Spencer's lunch today. Whole wheat pita bread spring mix, cucumbers and poppy seed dressing, he loved it! Breakfast consisted of Coaches oats, acidophilus (strengthens the immune system and aids digestion), cinnamon (helps blood sugar stay level), 1/4 t. almond butter (for Spencer) keeping it low-enough fat but, still adding a little protein, skim milk and cantaloupe.
More greens. It seems like our immune systems have been down for quite awhile. I could eat salad all day long as long as it has "a little" poppy seed dressing. Of course, I don't do that because it wouldn't be healthy--we need a balance of foods.:)
Popsicles made with strawberries, peaches, spring mix lettuce, flax powder, almond butter, milk and ice cream. My boys love theseThey really do chow them down. I guess the ice cream part helps out. Although, I made about 3 cups with only about 1/2 cup of ice cream OK, maybe 3/4 to 1 cup but, the rest of the ingredients are pretty good for you.
Oat, brown rice, and honey Irish soda bread.
I am thinking we will do salmon, brown rice and zucchini for dinner tonight.
I hope to add exercise to every one's schedule too. It just seems so important to be healthy these days. Our life tends to be pretty stressful. Hopefully now (if I can stick to this healthy stuff), we will have clearer minds, happier dispositions and healthier bodies to get us through all that we have to do.
(I really enjoy taking care of my family. It does takes a little more work and organization on my part to make better healthier choices but I think the results are worth it. Plus, I really love my family and want everyone to stick around as long as possible.:)
Wish me luck!Posted by Picasa
