First day back to work

Today is everyone's first day back to work.  Tyler went back to Barron and Pruitt, I have started my first day caring for a newborn and a toddler by myself till 2:30 when I pick up my adorable great big boys 7 and 11.  Have I ever mentioned how thrilled Spencer is about the fact that he and Grant are 7 & 11?

So far the morning has been good. Kate has been asleep since her dad left at 8.  Josh and I had breakfast and I gave him a bath (in the kitchen sink) Tyler thinks this is gross but I think it's incredibly convenient especially since I can bring him straight over from his high chair stripped down of the breakfast mess and get him all washed up lotioned and dressed in one place while Kate sleeps peacefully in her chair close by. I don't have to haul kids around the house and adjust baby monitors and worry about not hearing Kate gagging or whatever babies do to freak you out.

So now Josh is playing in his newly fenced off play area while I take a few minutes to update my blog.

My goals for the day are as follows:
1. Nap when Josh naps
2. Drink plenty of water
3. Eat well
4. Get showered and fully ready for the day. Hair, make-up, cute clothes (as cute as you can get when you are no longer pregnant but really need to be wearing maternity clothes still)

If I can do all these things today any thing else will be a bonus.

Last night I went to a baby shower while Tyler stayed home with our two babies.  He put Josh to bed and gave Kate a bottle. I was thrilled that she took it and that Tyler is so awesome that he can put an 18 month old to bed and give our newborn a bottle and put her into her pj's and back to bed. It was soooo nice to get out of the house and be with my friends. I love my friends. Josh and I are very similar in that we love/need to be with people. It is energizing and fun. I am going to try and do a better job at doing some things for me with this baby.  I think it will help me out quite a bit with not getting overwhelmed.

Wish us luck.

I almost forgot to mention the most exciting part of our day.

WE ARE GETTING OUR YARD PUT IN TODAY!!!!!!!!!

We finally got the landscaping company that I liked to come over here after nearly a year and a half of trying.  They are going to reconfigure our sprinkler system clean up all the dead stuff, grade the back yard and lay sod, create a dog run area and fence off the patio from the yard. We will have a space for kids to play, a space for the dog to be when they are out playing and a fenced off space for babies and josh to ride his little go cart around on. I am very excited about all of this.

I have always wanted to have a big stretch of grass for my kids to set up a slip and slide if they wanted to. I already have two slip and slides that I bought two years ago in the after summer clearance sale at Smiths. One is a double that ends in a pool. So excited for this summer.
