Saturday is a special day!

This Saturday started with breakfast and an attempt to make a plan that allowed us to fit in all that needed to be done and a few things that each one of us would like to do.  It turns out asking everyone their opinion and trying to make the day work for everyone is a real challenge. We rushed through our morning have to do's with enough time to get to Spencer's 2nd basketball game.  He was a little nervous and greeted his Auntie Jo and Great Grandma Holland with just a hand up in the air a nod and silence. He did the same for his Dad. Hearing that he did that brought back so many memories from my track days. I would get so nervous that is was hard for me to talk. Spencer did a great job hustling in this game and was even given a few opportunities to shoot the ball. The coach specifically asked the players to pass the ball to Spencer to give him a chance to try and to boost his confidence. I was so glad he did that. Spencer's confidence level is going up with each little success. He likes to break up his strides across the court with occasional little leaps. Very cute. It's so fun to get together each week with family and friends to support Spencer. Grant gives good advice from the sideline and really wants to see his brother do well.
After the basketball game we decided to stop and get a bite to eat on our way to Sky Zone. A indoor trampoline park. Grant and Spencer did extra reading during the month of December  to earn different rewards in the reading Wranglers program. They read so much that they earned free tickets to the YMCA, U swirl, Sky Zone and a Wranglers Hockey game. We were only able to redeem the sky zone tickets and the U swirl coupons. They were very happy to go and wore themselves out in the hour they were given to jump. It made me really happy to see them have so much fun being active. Grant's face was bright red and he was super tired at the end. I love to see my kids tired from having fun!
Josh had the chance to jump in a special toddler area that he loved. He wasn't quite able to get any air but he tried. He tried to chase the other little toddlers around as they ran and jumped across the trampolines. Eventually he got tired and wanted to get out. He lasted about 15 minutes I think before he was done.  Spencer had fun in the foam pit but lost his sock in it.

The highlight I think of the whole experience was the sky slam court. Grant wanted so badly to try and dunk on the smaller hoop but was too big to try it. He had to use the bigger hoop and felt a little frustrated by that I think.  He was a good sport though and played catch with Josh and the other kids as they waited in line for their turn.
Josh was not as good of a sport about not being able to shoot the since he did not meet the minimum size requirement. In fact he was pretty furious about it.
But, like I said it was made better by the big kids in line playing catch with him.
It is wasn't so expensive I would want to do this more often. I guess we will just keep our eyes peeled for coupons.
After Sky Zone we made it home with enough time for me to try and pull church clothes together and wash the dishes from breakfast and the night before, Grant and Spencer cleaned up the dogs mess in the back yard. Grant walked Bella--too his surprise his friend Matthew was over at his Grandma's and was able to join Grant on his walk. They had a really nice time. Unfortunately, Grant had to clean up after Bella in the back yard so they were not able to play any more after the walk.  Spencer worked on his 100 days project and cleaned up his room a bit.  Tyler vacuumed and gave himself a haircut. Before we knew it it was time to pack up for Maryann's.  She was so kind to watch our boys for us while we attended the adult session of stake conference where Jeffrey R. Holland was visiting and spoke. It was a wonderful conference. One that I will never forget.
