What's new

Here is a quick rundown of the latest and greatest at our house.

Tyler and I celebrated out 2nd wedding anniversary on the 17th. In order to take advantage of a great coupon Tyler had we met for lunch instead of dinner at the Outback...steakhouse.:) the last part was for Jacob and Tyler. They think it is so hilarious/annoying that I say INN and Out Burger. It was really nice to have some time to spend together eating a really good meal neither of us had to shop for cook, or clean up after. We also discovered that they have a fabulous ice cream Sunday with homemade whipped cream and chocolate sauce.  Tyler bought me a sea salt grinder salt shaker thing. I did not get him anything. Well I got him some jeans but I am not sure that counts since clothing purchases don't seem to excite him as much as they excite me.

I turned 35!!! Tyler brought home CafĂ© Rio for dinner (my favorite--especially love the leftovers) and Nothing Bundt cake. He even got an extra one for me to eat today!!!! And he got my favorite ice cream too, Chocolate cherry Bordeaux from Blue Bunny.  It has a million grams of fat but I don't even care I'm getting fat anyway.  I also got several things that I have needed and wanted. I got a new set of measuring spoons and cups. Red ones too. A 3 pack of big Tupperware. Something I can store large batches of bread, cookies or cupcakes in-soo, excited about that one. Some maternity clothes and a wireless mouse.

In addition to my turning thirty we have enjoyed watching Joshua as he becomes a more confident walker. He is so proud of himself and his ability to walk around like everyone else that he just wanders around a lot checking on stuff making his rounds--all with a big smile on his face. He seems to be trying to talk more lately.  Some of the things I think he is trying to say are; "Chee" (cheese) for his favorite food in the world next to his "ba" or "baba" (bottle), "Eeeee" eat, "I Nee" (I need) and "Dee" which he says for prayer and I have no idea what word it is he is trying to say. He continues to say, Dad, Da, Dada, Ma, Mom and Momma, I think he said Mommy the other day.   He likes to imitate everything we do. The funniest imitation of the day is watching him imitate the boys who imitate Tyler's positioning during prayers. Tyler gets sore legs or knees or something and often will pray with his head touching the couch or the ground to take the weight off of his legs. So the Boys are quick to copy him. Josh Just goes immediately into a head to the floor sort of try pod a lot of the times till he sees no one else is doing it and then he will stand or kneel or do whatever it is the boys are doing.  I think he wishes they would just pick a position and stick with it so he could get it right. It's really funny.

He likes to throw things away in the garbage and pretend he is cleaning the floor or the wall or his high chair with a wipe. He tries to kiss Dad on the lips like Dad kisses me. And shows everyone plenty of affection with hugs and pats on the back.  Because the boys have been helping more with him and around the house he seems to feel more love for them too. As Grant spends more time with him taking to his bed for nap time and getting him out when he is awake...often reading to him too I can see Josh looking more to Grant to play with than he was before. He likes to get right up in his face and smile at him as if to say. You take care of me and I like it.

Tyler is pretty busy with work and trying to help out here with all that needs to be done. He frequently stops at the store for me to pick things up and always gets up to let Bella out at the crack of dawn.  We are trying really hard to learn each others communication and organization styles.  They couldn't be more different. But that keeps life interesting.

I am nearly 26 weeks pregnant and feeling very excited to add another one to the mix...especially a pink one. The name we most frequently use in referring the baby is "Anna".  The boys said that is her name and will call her that no matter what we name her.  At a recent visit with the High risk pregnancy doctor during a routine ultrasound check (routine for me anyway) they checked the length of my cervix internally and realized it changed very quickly from a 4 to 2.5.  I was feeling really good and doing way more than I have ever done in a pregnancy. Finally understanding people who can function normally while pregnant. Well I wasn't quite as productive as normal but it was a whole lot better than usual.  Anyway my guess is that I over did it. The doctor says that just happens when you have multiple miscarriages that require a D&C.  The short of it is that I have to take it easy and rest now so I don't progress any further. Typically when this happens you will deliver early like before 32 weeks early. So we are trying to do what we can to better our chances of delivering later.

Grant and Spencer have been helpful with dishes and even laundry. Grant made his own chocolate chip cookies this morning for his school party. I was right next to him telling him what to get out and how to do it but, still he did most of the work himself. I took them out of the oven and was amazed at how pretty they looked. Way better than any cookie I ever make.

Spencer likes to go up and down the stairs putting things away for me and getting what I need because I say "on your marks get set go."  I wonder how long that will last.  I have enjoyed the time I have to spend watching TV with the kids and sitting with Josh and playing with him. It turns out there have been a lot of sit still type activities that have been neglected as a result of my feeling well enough to do so much. It's nice to have some time to engage more with my children.  I love them so much.

I do not enjoy having to figure out ways to get things done through other people. I don't know how to explain how to do things or where everything is...normally I just do it or get it myself.   Trying to explain everything is almost more exhausting than the actual work.  This is going to be good for me I can tell.

We will keep you all posted on the status of the pregnancy and our sanity. We hope it all works out.
