Happy Halloween

Today was a really fun day. We started it by sleeping in later than normal. I was so happy to be able to make some cute witches hat cookies for both of my boys school parties. I forgot to take a picture. :(  Before the parties though was the parade. Spencer was some sort of cloaked man for the parade and kicked it up a notch later for trick or treating.
The parade was organized so well on the field. Each class lined up from kindergarten to fifth grade then they did a lap around all the lines so the parents could see.
We talked Grant into at least wearing his vampire cape.
Grant's class was honestly the most fun school party I have ever been too.  And I have attended nearly every once since preschool except last years. There was music and tons of treats. The kids seem to be really enjoying themselves. At one point they were up dancing it seemed like everyone was up laughing and talking including my sweet grant. It did my heart good to witness such a happy time.
Grant is such a good boy. It's hard to believe that this was his last elementary school halloween party. I am so glad it was a good one.
Josh LOVES to party. He had so much fun eating all the treats and being apart of the group. He felt very proud of himself for having a costume on too.
I mentioned to Spencer later how fun Grant's party was and I think I hurt his feelings because he thought I was suggesting that his party was "dumb".  His party was not dumb. It was wonderful to attend. I was so happy I got to be there.
I frequently looked over to see Josh happily looking around and smiling really big.
This is the car pool group minus Serena.
After school we watched a little TV while Spencer wrapped up his homework from last night and I was crazy and put up some curtains. THEN it was time to get dressed for Trick or Treating. The boys are with their dad this week so they went out with him in the evening but I had them till five and was able to get them ready. I loved every minute of it. Even the face painting with Josh on my lap. Matt showed up shortly after this picture was taken to pick up the boys and held Josh while I finished.
Josh was pretty curious to figure out what in the world I was doing to his brother.
Here is the finished product. Pretty cute if I do say so myself!!
Of course we had to do a number of poses.
Josh wanted nothing to do with the picture and certainly didn't want to stand next to scary Spencer. Grant was a good sport to wrestle with him long enough to get a few pictures.
The boys headed out for a night with their dad and his girlfriend Karyn and her kids. They had a great time while Tyler Josh and I stayed home and handed out Candy. Josh loved going to the door and watching as the candy box was opened. It says things like "Happy Halloween" and "You want some candy?" All in a old lady witch voice.  He thought it was pretty cool.

Tyler picked up some Roberto's and then watched a bit of a recorded BYU basketball game. After they were done trick or treating the boys stopped back at the house to show Tyler their costumes and show us their loot.  It was a great, great night. I hope the rest of you had a Happy Halloween as well.
