We fit in an early morning hike out to Calico Basin on one of the last warm days before the government shut down. We had a really nice time. We spotted lot's of strange horned worms everywhere in the rocks.
Spencer, Josh and I trailed behind Dad, Bella and Grant. Spencer was so happy to inspect everything around him. Josh and I were just slow. Plus, it was fun to get excited over the plants and animals with Spencer.
It was a pretty short hike and even though we left shortly after breakfast I was starving halfway through. I really wished I had packed some snacks.
Spencer liked the red sand in the rocks.
The flowers were pretty too.
Hope we can go back soon. Now that the nice fall weather is here.
