We had about 45 minutes to celebrate with the boys this year. Kind of sad that it was so short but...we made the best of it. We were planning on having a dinner/party from 6-8 but Tyler found out today he had a stake meeting at 7:00 pm and Matt thought I said cake and ice cream only and planned a meal with the boys with his family that have come into town.
I attempted to make a German chocolate cake but left out one half of the melted chocolate and ended up using honey butter in place of regular butter for the frosting since I thought I had more than I really did. I also had to get creative with the candles since I did not have 35.
I made some double chocolate cupcakes for the boys.
We bought Tyler a cool set of noise canceling headphones...via amazon. It was a great deal I couldn't pass up on. I had never even heard of this type of headphone till Tyler let me listen to a pair back when we were dating. I have been on the look out for an affordable pair for the last couple years and finally got lucky. I hope now that he has some "fancy" headphones he is able to take a break from time to time and listen to the music he never seems to have time for anymore.
We all love Tyler so much and are thankful everyday to have him in our life.

Looks like a fun time even though it was cut short. The cake looks yummy! Can't believe how old my children are getting! We love you.
