Camping in our backyard

Tyler had the idea of all ideas this Sunday. Camping in our backyard.  This is why I love Tyler. The boys couldn't be more excited and talked excitedly about it all week.  Grant told me he was looking forward to it at school today.  I love knowing that he not only wants to spend time with his family but that even at school while he is with his friends having a good time he looks forward to something we have planned as a family.  Heart melter right there.
Josh spent the first little while being angry.
The boys loved the low-fat turkey dogs Tyler picked up.  I love that he ALWAYS remembers that Spencer needs to eat low-fat.
Josh cheered up after a while...especially once he got to eat and the fire started roaring again.
Here is our lovely back yard.  It really is lovely it just needs a bit of work.
Spencer did a lot of tribal dancing. He said he felt like a cave man.
Josh adores his older brothers.
And they adore him.
It was nice to sit outside and hear the birds.  I'm not going to lie...it took me about 2 hours to unwind enough to relax. The tribal dancing around the fire, mixed with mad Josh and the state of our backyard left me a bit on edge.
I was waiting for the neighbors to call the fire department on us or at least peek over the brick to see what was going on. Spencer was pretty loud with his chanting.
He had a really nice time and so did Grant. Tyler was annoyed about all the pictures as usual.
I did think that it might be fun for Tyler and I to go on a camping trip together sometime.
After roasting hot dogs we had s'mores and then watched parental guidance in the tent while Josh slept inside. (We had a monitor with us in the tent so we could keep an eye on him. Thanks to Costco who sold us our massive extension cord.)
Josh and I are sleeping inside and the big boys are out in the tent till morning. I am so grateful for my family.  Thank you Tyler for having such a great idea and creating a fun memory for our family.
