The pinewood derby part 2. The ward boundaries were realigned this year and so that meant for scouts that we would have another pinewood derby. Matt risked life and limb this time around by cutting the car himself. It turned out pretty great. Grant named it the blue bullet 2.
We had no idea what we should expect this time around. The wheels were polished as well as the axles. Special graphite weights and tungsten putty applied. Grant wanted to keep his design simple. Spencer and I tried to talk him into putting a red stripe down the middle of the silver or a red 2 or other embellishments but Grant wasn't interested in all that stuff.
He was hopeful after his car placed second in one of its four heats.
I was happy to be there with my boy and even happier he wanted to spend time with me having me teach him how to take pictures. Afterwards we went to Inn and out Burger and had a nice conversation just the two of us.
