On the way home from school I learn a lot of interesting things about my boys. They talk about their day, where they want to serve a mission, their favorite memories, etc.
On the way home today Grant told me about his day and how he missed lunch. He fell asleep in class and his teacher let him sleep through lunch and recess since he was so tired. Apparently he woke him up to go to lunch but he said he'd rather sleep. Weird. You would think the school would be concerned. Like maybe he's sick? Anyway, he slept through lunch and recess. A few days ago the boys were out of school so they tagged along to Joshua's 1 month well check. I arranged for them to have flu shots while they were there. Grant said the usual prayer before hand. He has major shot anxiety. Who can blame him. They hurt. They both did well during the actual shot part but since then Grant has not been feeling well at all. I think he got a little bit of the bug. We just got home from school and he asked if he could sleep till his dad gets here at 6. He's gone to bed early three nights this week since the shot. Poor kid.
Spencer was all pumped up and talking loudly about Veterans day and how they learned about it in school. For recess he played Army and Indians with Nicholas and Henry!
I love these conversations and wish I could capture the expressions and the emotion in their voices as they share their thoughts with me.
