Last year I canned peaches and marinara sauce and loved the results. So this year I decided to can some cherries. We have no idea how they will taste but I'm hoping they taste good considerring how much work was involved.
Tyler and my brother Joe both asked the same question, "What do you do with them...how do you eat them?" I'm not really sure what the answer is. I guess I could use them for muffins, ice cream and oatmeal. I even think it would be good to use them in home-made ice cream.
Grant was a little concerned that the 21 quarts wouldn't be enough. He asked if maybe we could get the number to 30. He's such a funny little boy.

My mom occasionally canned cherries, they are delicious to eat right out of the jar, just like home canned peaches. Trust me, they'll not wait to eat them on or in things. Yum.
My mom canned cherries. Not sure what she used them for - I'd recommend maybe a cherry sauce as a filling for Black Forest cake?
