I've been behind in the scout uniform department and It's not all my fault (or so I keep telling myself). Spencer has this thing for anything smallish that he can gather. Scout patches and beads all stuck to a card with writing on them are just too much smallish good stuff for his little hands to pass up on. He claimed them before I could interfere. That kid...I tell you what. I tried to gather it all but came up short. Grant's dad so graciously offerred to drive to the scout office to get the missing items so that Grant would be all put together for tonights pack meeting. At the last minute I got out the trusty sewing machine and sewed those patches on. It felt good...like I was a legitimate mom who sews on patches. I am sure glad I did because Grant was very quick to point out to his leaders and with a beam in his eye that he was put together neat and wearing everything he should be from his belt to his scarf. I love that kid and I love how it feels to be his mother. I am also grateful for his Dad who works hard to meet his and his brothers needs the best he can. And for Tyler their "other Dad" as they like to refer to him for providing all the time, love, attention and resources that he does.
Spencer was quite in his elelment hanging out with the kids on the chair rack. I think its a dangerous thing to do along with all the other parents, but like Tyler said, it's just too much work to do anything about it sometimes. I thought he was spot on...sad but true. These little rascals were disbanded shortly after the picture was taken after I followed the lead of another more energetic mother who told them to get down. Yeah, um get down...right now kids. :)
