Harlee and Hudson

We got some puppies!

Here are the details for all of you enquiring minds and I must say that I am pleased that two of you faithful readers have enquiring minds and want to now more about our beloved new additions to our family. You know who you are.:)

We found these two puppies on Craig's list and thought we would swing by for a look. The look turned into a love at first sight scenario. Grant and Spencer frolicking with the puppies laughing as the little pink tongues slobbered all over them. The rest is history. Matt and I turned to mush and before we new it we were walking out the door with TWO puppies. Brother and sister. We love, love, love them. I have to be honest though I was not planning on buying a short haired dog let alone two. I am a large fluffy haired dog type of girl. However, my practical side that rarely comes out had to agree with the many friends and family members who urged us to consider a smaller, short-haired breed. Sigh, all of my hopes and dreams for a big furry ball of slobbering love out the window. I am pretty sad about that. But, like I said It just is not practical at this time to pursue my true love and after all these dogs are for the boys right?

Enough about me and my need for you to understand my feeelings.

Harlee and Hudson are a Beagle Dachshund mix. They are a perfect fit for our boys. Harlee the girl has a lot of energy and loves Grant and all of his energy as much as Grant loves her. Spencer is annoyed by Harley and has said several times since we got the dogs. "She's a naughty dog isn't she" Spencer prefers Hudson the sweet timid little male puppy who shares a mutual love of snuggling and being rubbed on the belly.

Tonight, we took the puppies to the park for the first time. They had a ball after they got over the initial shock of the prickly sensation on their little puppy paws.

Tomorrow morning we will take them to the vet to get them up to date on their shots and all checked out. It should be fun.

We have just opened a new chapter in our life...and I think its going to be a good one.
