A few cost cutting ideas!

I made some bread--6 loaves. I baked two and froze 4. I had the ingredients and figured it would save me trips to the store where I inevitable buy more than I should.
I made an entire package of brown rice to keep handy in the refrigerator. I always seem to be so busy around lunch and snack times. This is a quick meal. Throw in a few peas and scrambled eggs and whala there is a healthy lunch that kids actually like. Well, mine anyway. Plus--I love giving my boys lots of whole grains. I will sometimes eat it with just butter, salt and pepper. Another favorite.

Spencer eating some homemade bread for a snack. Feels better than when he eats Halloween candy because I don't have any snack food.
I made my own wipes.
Cut Viva paper towels in half with a serrated edge knife then pull out the cardboard tube. Next put the paper towels into a round wipes container like the one shown below. Then mix a cup of water and approximately a table spoon of both baby oil and Johnson and Johnson's baby body wash. I have heard that it doesn't work as well with other baby soap brands.

And finally, I went to the store with a list and $20.00. I was able to get all of the essential items on my list for just over $19.00. (At Wal-mart) F.Y.I Red delicious apples are $1.00 a pound there right now. You can't see my $5.00 face wash in this picture but it is there somewhere. So there you have it a few cost cutting ideas.
