Two Surprises!

One of my dear friends, Sharon Rushforth, brought over two wonderful things tonight for our family. The first was a blow up bouncy house basketball set for the boys to bounce around in for a couple of days. Then she brought over a plate of warm cookies an hour or so later.

After a long hard day, I wasn't sure how I was going to make it all the way to bedtime. I had a million phone calls to return, emails to check, papers to find, kids to feed, bathe, and get ready to bed and I was just feeling frazzled past the point of return. So I decided to just order pizza... put in Pride and Prejudice... and decompress.

Matt had the BYU game going on his iPhone and things started to look up (for me, that is, not for the Cougs). The kids and I started dancing when the movie showed the ballroom dancing scenes and I really had a good time dancing around with Spencer and Matthew/Grant. The cookies were so yummy that we gobbled them down in about 10 minutes with our pizza and about a half gallon of milk. Grant and I decided that we really like treat dinners like that. Grant informed me, though, that pizza and milk make you strong but cookies just make you happy!

After we filled our bellies, Grant and Spencer tried out the bounce house basketball thing and had a blast. It brought back a lot of my own childhood memories watching them have so much fun. I can't think of anything that brings me more happiness than to see my children joyful, happy and carefree. Tonight turned out to be one of those nights where heaven must have intervened. I don't think I could have handled another minute of rushed work. It seemed like time stood very pleasantly still for a few hours at our house.

Never feel guilty about ordering a pizza for dinner! Those kind of nights just need to happen every once in a while in order for us to stay sane. That bounce house looks like a ton of fun!

Looks like you had a great evening. I wish our house was big enough for a toy like that! Our kids would have so much fun! We'll just have to save up and come and visit- and you'll have to borrow it again!
