I have heard during this political campaign about the evils of the Mormon running for president. I thought he [Mitt Romney] was great and am sad that he is out. Putting Mitt Romney aside I am also very concerned about the way conclusions are being made concerning this matter of the "Mormons."
Being a "Mormon" myself I have found it difficult to hear so many thoughtlessly attack something I hold so dear to my heart.
I understand and respect that everyone is entitled to an opinion and that it is very important to respect those differences in opinion?
However, as a member of the church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day-Saints I would encourage you to dig deeper, find out all you can about the "Mormons." Read the Book of Mormon. Study the principles contained in it. Go to the church website http://www.mormon.org/. Talk to any of your Mormon friends or family members. Ask lots and lots of questions, be honest about your concerns. And most importantly pray. I realize most are not in the habit of praying, but, I would encourage you to try it. Pray to know if you should pray. Pray to know if you should read the Book of Mormon. Pray to know if you should talk to your Mormon friends. You can know what to do. The concern that many have about being deceived by evil things is real. That is why prayer is so vital. The answers come softly, so, go somewhere quiet. Listen carefully, you will feel peace. If an answer doesn't come right away keep at it. The answers always come.
Good luck on your search, we need each other during this wonderful yet difficult time on earth.
Should you read this post and think this is not for me know that we can support and love each other regardless of our beliefs. I hope that my dear friends and family will share everything that is good in their life with me and that I might share everything that is good in mine.
