I could hardly wait to put the kids to bed tonight.

It wasn't because they were driving me crazy, in fact they were very good all day. It had to do with the huge laundry mountain I have been working on for about a month now. It seems that just when I start to see the end in sight something happens, a "life event," that keeps me from doing away with that mountain of laundry that I so desperately want to be rid of. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy doing laundry. I just don't like to stare at what seems to be an insurmountable task.

I have envisioned a family neatly dressed in the clothes I washed and carefully worked the stains out of. Clothes neatly stacked in closets, carefully hung from hangers and lovingly placed in drawers. They would never sit unfolded after being taken out of the dryer. Oh no. I would fold or hang every item straight from the dryer and put it away in the manner I described above. Now you may be asking yourself does this happen? Is this really how laundry is handled at the Holland household? No, no, this is just a dream of mine. A DREAM I AM DETERMINED TO PULL OFF!

Laundry has unfortunately come to a halt since I have been without my beloved original scented Tide for two days now. Today, though, I bought the mother of all boxes at Costco. It contains 50% more detergent, equalling 180 loads of fresh clean clothing. So anticipating that tonight could be the night to wrap up my laundry, I did what any tide/laundry junkie in a state of withdrawal would have done. I fed my little kiddos at 4:30 p.m.--an hour early--brushed teeth, read stories, gave a sippy cup of milk, brushed teeth again, rocked my baby and before I knew it 6:30 p.m. had rolled around and the two cuties were sound asleep. It is now 6:44 p.m., and I have taken 15 minutes of my precious laundry time to share my excitement with friends and posterity. Now, however, I need to get down to business.

Wish me luck!!!!

THE END IS IN SIGHT.
