WE WENT TO DISNEYLAND!
About one and a half years ago Matt and I (while in the middle of studying for the bar exam) talked pretty seriously about going to Disneyland for a much needed vacation. There were several obvious reason's why we should go; stress from a recent move, stress from the bar exam preparations, stress from almost 5-years of little or no family vacation time, stress from several moves, schooling, studying, and testing.
Unfortunately, after careful consideration we decided not to go at that time and have been planning for and waiting for the right time to go every since.
About a month ago we decided that Christmas this year would be the right time to finally go to Disneyland . So after buying our tickets online, booking our hotel room and packing for several hours for all that we would need for five days; we left last Friday for our first-ever family vacation to Disneyland and returned happy but tired last night at midnight.
Disneyland is a magical place at any time of the year, but it was especially magical at Christmas time. It was the perfect vacation spot for our family last weekend. (Although, it was extremely crowded)
Grant was so darling when he exclaimed after just a few minutes of being in Disneyland, "All my dreams are coming true." He had been wishing for several years at every wishing well, every birthday cake, every penny swirling machine at Sam's club; that he would get to go to Disneyland.
His sweet little declaration was so innocent and so cute. I am glad that "all his dreams came true."
I was hoping to start posting our pictures tonight, but... it turns out the camera is in the car with Matt and he is at the Temple.
My kids went right to bed at 7:30 p.m. and I have been looking forward to this all-day...next time I start planning something in my mind I will stop my thoughts, gather the necessary supplies in a secure place and then resume my planning and dreaming until the appointed time arrives. I will just have to wait until the next time I have 3 silent hours to myself. Boo-Hoo.
Stay tuned...
P.S. My husband didn't know the camera was in the car; it was my fault that I didn't get it out. (Just didn't want my husband to think I was blaming him.) LOVE YOU, MATT!
